Protein Powder Buying Guide
Shaklee Life Shake vs Other Protein Powders: How to Compare
Published May 5, 2026 · Updated October 23, 2026

Choosing a protein powder is easier when you compare the same information on each label. Life Shake combines protein with fiber, vitamins and minerals; another powder may focus on protein alone. Those are different buying choices, and a fair comparison should make the differences clear.

Start with a full serving, not a scoop
Shaklee's preparation instructions use two scoops per serving. Compare that full serving with the stated serving size on another product. Scoop sizes vary, so comparing one scoop of each product can give a misleading result. Also distinguish powder-only nutrition from a shake prepared with milk, fruit or nut butter.
| Buying criterion | Life Shake information | Check on the other product |
|---|---|---|
| Protein | 20 g per serving | Grams per full labeled serving and protein source |
| Fiber | 6 g per serving | Grams per serving and ingredients |
| Sugar | 0 g in the core plant formulas and soy French Vanilla/Rich Chocolate; 1 g in soy Café Latte/Strawberry | The specific flavor's current nutrition label |
| Serving size | Two scoops, mixed as directed | Serving weight, scoop count and preparation |
| Retail cost | $61.10 for 14 servings; $110.25 for 28 servings at verification | Current container price divided by servings |
Compare costs consistently
At those retail prices, a 14-serving bag costs about $4.36 per serving and a 28-serving bag about $3.94. Shipping, taxes, membership discounts and added ingredients can change the final cost. Compare retail with retail, or member pricing with the other brand's equivalent purchase terms. The official checkout controls the price you pay.
Choose a formula that fits your preferences
Life Shake Soy Protein offers Café Latte, French Vanilla, Strawberry and Rich Chocolate. Shaklee identifies soy Café Latte as vegetarian; the other core soy flavors are labeled vegan. Life Shake Plant Protein offers core French Vanilla and Rich Chocolate options. Read the current ingredient and allergen label for the exact flavor you select.
Use named, current sources
A useful brand comparison should identify the exact product, flavor, serving weight, price date and source label. We do not publish anonymous competitor scores or claim that Life Shake is the best option for everyone. Use the checklist above alongside the products you are considering.
